If you are coping with a breakup and moving forward in life and you’re thinking that life moves on, you’ll want to keep yourself motivated and occupied. Wanting to get on with how to deal with a bad breakup can be something that can put you in the dumps.
But the more you let go and move on the better you will feel in time.
Whatever route you decide is right for you for moving forward in life while coping with a breakup, you must always give yourself time to begin to understand that life moves on.
The Course in Miracles teaches us all about time in this world being used for “overcoming learning handicaps” and as a “healing device.”
Coping with a breakup means you appear detached, relying on some self-confidence and feeling mature.
In the weeks and months after the breakup make sure that you spend time looking after yourself emotionally and physically.
In that way, when the time is right for you to contact your ex, you are in great shape emotionally and physically.
Course in Miracles tells us, “Your learning goal has been not to learn, and this cannot lead to successful learning.”
If you are convinced that the relationship is not over, that your ex has, in effect, made a mistake in ending the relationship, then you will no doubt be insane on rekindling the relationship.
(I also recommend this article on common marriage problems and when you’re thinking should I get a divorce.)
Don’t Rely on your False Hopes
It could be that you are acting from a false sense of self—the ego-based mind aspect in you, a part in all of us as humans that is set in fear and self-doubt.
But in reality you are setting yourself up for even a bigger crisis, so please bear this in mind.
While coping with a breakup if you are sure in your mind that the relationship is not over and you want to find a way to heal the breakup, then here are some things to mull over.
If you both have agreed to the breakup, then let your ex go with as little drama and fuss as possible.
When your ex sees that you’re handling the end of your relationship with such maturity, he/she will be very impressed.
When you’re up against how to deal with a bad breakup to spend hours and hours on your own is one of the worst things that you can do.
This will only leave you time to brood, reminisce and leave you feeling connected to your ex.
In that scenario you won’t find the mindset for moving forward in life.
So give a few friends a call, let them be aware of what you’re going through, but without dumping too much on them.
You don’t want to be seen as a burden or a basket case, but as well a good friend will respect you for being open and trusting in them for friendship.
It’s Time to Let Go and Move on
(Here’s more about how to begin letting go and moving on with an effortless single step toward a journey you truly want.)
So when you are coping with a breakup go easy on yourself while preparing your mind to let go and move on.
How to get over a relationship can be hard to do especially when perhaps you weren’t ready for the relationship to end.
It may have been your spouse that wanted to let go and move on for whatever reason he/she had.
But that’s okay, and if that’s the case.
Then there are two paths you can take: you can refuse to accept the relationship is really over, or you can find a way to begin moving forward in life—a life that is your own reality.
So be kind to yourself and bring out your best as you heal from the relationship.
The Course in Miracles states that, “Yet in this world your perfection is unwitnessed. God knows it, but you do not, and so you do not share His witness to it.”
So now it is the time for to start bringing out your best!
It’s Perfect Time to Live your Passion and Purpose
Once your ex has left, it’s best that you do not make any contact with your ex.
The last thing you want to do is to be constantly calling your ex and pleading and begging with him/her to take you back.
To continue coping with a breakup and your appearance of maturity, begin moving forward in life and leave your ex for someone else to worry about.
While you are coping with a breakup is a good time period for you to dive deep into a passion and make it a life of purpose.
Yes, I mean take up on something in your life that you’ve always wanted to do, but never took the time to do so.
Now you can pick up on that passionate inclination and nurture a new beginning for purpose in life—yes, a brand new start for the new you to come through.
Whatever it is that you need to do for coping with a breakup keep your mind on your new journey and off your ex, then let go and move on.
As you are going through this healing process, try to remember and see more closely with depth and conviction, that life in this world is filled with experiences of change.
Understanding this and aligning your inner self to change is of the habits of highly successful individuals who have ever walked this planet.
And besides that, it is how successful people grow!
